Once the primary principle that explains the behavior of the Republicans and corporate right wing is made clear, then much of what is happening in Washington politics becomes clear and makes sense.  That guiding principle is:

This principle can be understood with reference to the figure on the left:
The structure at the top of the figure is our "National Treasury of Resources" and represents the houses of Congress, the Federal government, the Federal Reserve, and the interlocking directorates of corporate power.  This figure suggests a shadow government behind the Real government.  The shadow government is the anemic remnants of the Democracy that has been replaced by a corporocracy. [definition]  The Real government is the Federal Reserve and the interlocking directorates of corporate power that control all the elements and activity of the United States government.
The electorate is represented on the left side of the figure.  On the right are the structures by which corporate America does its business.  The world map in the background suggests the global nature of this relationship, i.e., beyond the borders of the United States.  The electorate also populates the machinery of corporate activity.  In that role, they are increasingly denied adequate income, health insurance, retirements, other fringe benefits, upward mobility, and for an increasing number, their very livelihoods upon which their survival, and that of their families and communities depend.  Now the Bush machine is moving to force employees in all lines of work  to eventually work until they die. These actions define an emergent fascistic, corporate owned, autocratic model of economic and political slavery.
Line "A" points to the scale of influence left for the owners of the shadow government; Line "B"  points to the scale of influence held by the corporate owners of the Real government.
Line "C" suggests the scale of resources being sucked from the electorate in order the fill the National Treasury; Line "D" represents the scale of tax support flowing from corporations to fill the National Treasury
Line "E" points to the scale of resources flowing back as benefits to the electorate.  This includes entitlement programs such as social security and veterans benefits, environmental protection, health care (Medicare/Medicaid), unemployment insurance, education support, and security; Line "F" points to the scale of resources flowing back from the National Treasury to corporations.  This includes the defense industry, large scale building of foreign infrastructures, subsidies to promote corporate expansion, bank interest and payments to corporations from government bonds, corporate research and outsourcing, and abundant opportunities for graft and corruption among many other benefits.
The right wing lie machine orchestrates a deception to blind the electorate to the reality of this actual relationship among the electorate, government and corporations.  They must never see "the elephant" that is trashing their lives for what it actually is.  So they will ridicule and try to shout down presentations such as this one regarding how public resources actually flow.  However, any respectable economist not in a corporate pocket can provide ample facts to define the reality of just what and how much of our national treasures flow across the pathways represented by lines "C" through "F".

Regarding the role of the religious right in providing George W. Bush his victory in 2004, evidence has also been provided elsewhere that Jesus was in fact, in today's terms, a potent liberal [review evidence.] When all of his demonstrations, sermons, and allegories are translated into works [James 2: 18-26], those works will be found firmly on the liberal side of today's political agenda.   Thus this figure shows the blatant hypocrisy of the right wing politicians and religionists in betraying the rights and needs of the electorate, the founding principles of our Democracy, and the primal testament of Jesus to those who want to follow his example.

When the religious right can be shown the Truth behind this diagram, its dire implications and relevance to their future, and the scale and depth to which they have been manipulated and duped by the hypocricy political right, and some of their own religious leaders, they will quickly reverse their commitment.  They will return to the liberal path of the Jesus they so devoutly worship.
